Learn the Basics of Needle Felting
Two-hour workshop on December 2. 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Needle (or punch) felting is a process originally developed for making industrial felt. Modern day fiber artists have adopted the felt needle as a tool for creating dry felt and for use in conjunction with wet felting techniques.
By using the needle individually, or in small clusters, felt artists can create controlled designs and three-dimensional shapes that are difficult to achieve using traditional wet felt making techniques alone. Learn a fresh new craft by creating and embellishing wool fashions and accessories.  It is easy and remarkably fun.
We will cover the techniques of felting a knitted or wool fabric item, then embellishing with yarns, roving and novelty fibers.  You will also learn the basics of felting a three-dimensional figure.
Class fee is $25.

When thinking of knitting and crocheting, one doesn't often associate it with social networking Web sites. Despite being a solitary activity, knitting is also a social event and a chance for people to get together and share tips, projects, and chatter--also known as the stitch and bitch. Ravelry is a new site for knitters and crocheters that's taking that online, and adding an interesting Web spin with project management, and the creation of a massive directory of user shared patterns. The end result is a social network that doubles as a place to find new projects and talk to others who have done them. If you haven't signed up yet, you don't know what you are missing! www.Ravelry.com
